Green and White Neck and Neck

‘Winning is when the final whistle blows, when you cross the line first or when the clock says there is no more time left and you are ahead. And NOT before!’

The Greens won The Sing this evening, and what a Sing it was. There was so little between them, as both teams barely made a mistake. Their singing was clear and loud and confident. It was such a shame that either team should have to lose, but such is the nature of competition The Whites were magnanimous in defeat as they congratulated their opposing captains straight after the announcement. I think they acknowledged that the Greens just shaded it.

But there was no time to dwell on this defeat, as the next Green and White game was announced: Midnight Manhunt, which is taking place as I write this Word. It will be over in 15 mins by which time they will all be ready for bed. They need their sleep in preparation for tomorrow’s Relay. This is the granddaddy of Green and White events and it will decide the competition this summer.

Earlier this morning we got to sign the cement. Our names will be etched for ever in the sidewalk outside cabin 11.

Just after lunch the counsellors went over to Camp Interlaken, a few miles down the road, to play soccer. We came away with a well-deserved 3-2 victory. Counsellor sports have gone well this summer. Indeed, the whole summer is going well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
