What A Beautiful Day

‘If 20-a-day smokers inhaled a week’s worth of nicotine all at once, they would die instantly. Think about that next time you light up.’

What a contrast to yesterday. Cool and cloudy yesterday; hot and sunny today. It was so different and so much better. Perfect weather, in fact, for starting team practices for our competition that starts on Wednesday. While camp is a lot more than just this competition, there is no denying that for a lot of the boys this is what makes their summer. Getting one over on your rival(s) is a sweet thing indeed. We did it last year, and I’m hoping we can repeat the feat this summer.

I managed to get round and see a lot of the practices today, and from what I could see we were doing very well indeed. Confidence is high, but not so much so that we become arrogant or a little above ourselves. We know that we have a challenge on our hands, and that that challenge can only be met with some hard work and practice.

Tonight – as I write in fact – the counsellors are playing their counterparts from Kawaga at softball under the lights in St Germain. Softball is our thing, so…..

I’m not going to count any chickens, so I’m just hoping that we get the run of the ball tonight and that we play the best we can.

But win or lose, all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
