A Beautiful Day in Paradise

‘The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing’. Walt Disney

After a week of largely unstructured play, we got back into some instructional stuff today. It was rather like when the parents get home and everyone has to start behaving themselves again and observing the rules of the house. Not that the boys have been out of control; not at all in fact; it’s just that there has been a lot of free play. So today we reintroduced some structure. For example; as I write this they are all playing softball on the fields drenched in sunshine. It is a truly beautiful evening; perfect for softball.
It will then be shower and dip time and then canteen before we all go into Wasserman Hall for tonight’s magic show. Every cabin has to come up with at least one magic trick they think will impress everyone. I have a couple up my sleeve and I know there are a few other magicians out there.
Cabin three – the junior of junior cabins – will be sleeping out on the golf course after a day spent at the water-falls just outside Eagle River. They will be the last cabin to complete their trip and thus bring trip week to a close.
Tomorrow is one of those days when British and American takes over here at CM. In celebration and recognition of the events 230+ years ago, the whole camp gets involved in some fun and games to mark that day when the British gave up on America and let them go their own way. That is how it happened, correct?
With diamonds dancing on the lake and the coolest and gentlest of breezes blowing in from the south west, you know that all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
