What a great summer!!

‘Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted’. Einstein

So the summer is over and the boys are home and the memories have been made. We are not sad that the summer is over for we rejoice in the fact that it happened at all. We are thankful and grateful that so many people came and enjoyed the North Woods at this camp, and what a great summer it has been.
We have done so much and made so many new friends and learnt new skills. We have thrown balls and climbed walls; we have run races and met new faces; we have swung a bat just like that; we have swum and sang and laughed and skied and chased flags and thrown Frisbees, eaten hot-dogs, gone on trips, sailed the lake, performed on stage and done it all with a smile on our faces. But camp is not just about what we do; it is about the people in camp; YOU guys! Without you there is no camp, so I want to extend a great big thank you to all the parents out there for choosing this camp over so many others as a place for your boys this year. We know there is so much for everyone to do each summer; so many camps to attend and vacations to take and places to visit, but we believe in what we do here and we believe that this is one of the best places for a boy to be.
Summer camp is a great American tradition and long may that continue. Camp Menominee is a great tradition too and has been for nearly 90 years now. Whether it is boys from Chicago or boys from New York to LA and all points in between, we will welcome all those who want to learn new skills and enjoy the company of like-minded souls.
To the many thousands who have gone before us, and to the many thousands who will follow in our footsteps I want you to know that all is well and we can all safely rest. Until we meet again.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY
