It’s Beautiful Up Here

‘No-one knows why life is the way it is, but I’m sure glad it is this way. Nature, at its best, is life, and life in all its many forms is a wonderful and spectacular thing.’  Anon.

Lazy Day was most welcome to a number of people today. Sleeping in until 10am on a Sunday is a luxury that not all camps offer and entertain. I believe in rest and sleep; without proper rest and recovery we will not be able to perform to the best of our ability the next day. Indeed, sleep aids life, and life is good.

So this was a standard Lazy Day of cabin activities (clean-up after the social last night), camper council at midday (open forum today), lunch with counsellor waiters, and, just to be different, some TLL at 2.30.

The weather has been gorgeous – mid 70s, blue sky – which meant that hot dog cookout at 5pm could happen and everyone could get a fire lit. Sundaes on Sunday at 6 and movie night (with canteen) at 7.30 completed the day. There is a rumour going round that Green and White is about to start, a rumour I cannot confirm (or deny) at this point. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

We’ve got a full week of activity planned (there’s still a lot to do), and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
