Lazy Day Sunday

‘There is a big difference between earning a living and making a living.’

Lazy Day Sunday is what we have enjoyed today. Indeed, we are still going with it as I write this, as the Senior cabin are in the studio  helping Jason with Ask the Director. It is the Senior cabin who run the Camper Council just before lunch. This is the forum where two campers from each cabin are invited into Wasserman Hall to come up with new ideas for the summer, ideas that might help make camp better. Today we talked about ideas for new evening activities and for movies for movie night. The boys had lots of suggestions, some of which we can definitely do, so watch this space!

Sunday is different because it is the one day of the week when we do things very differently. Aside from waking up late and enjoying a lazy style breakfast until 10.00, we also spend a lot of time doing stuff with the cabin group. And one of the most important things we do as a cabin on a Sunday is Hot Dog Cookout in the woods. Yes folks, that’s right, the boys cook their dinner over a fire in the woods. We enjoy a lot of wooded area here at CM, and we take full advantage of that. Then it’s back into the mess hall for Sundaes on Sunday. Believe it or not, the hot sun today dried out the wood from last night’s deluge. The nature of both the ground and the weather here means that even if there is torrential rain, 24 hours later you would never know it.

So that’s almost one week done, and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
