Lazy Day Sunday in Eagle River

‘Happiness doesn’t come from doing what we like to do, but liking what we have to do’.

Lazy Day Sunday in Eagle River. This is the one day of the week when we go ‘off piste’ and do what we like, and like what we do. It is a very informal day where we get up late – 10.00 – and do a lot of cabin activities. It is also the day when we eat out in the woods for dinner, by way of Hot Dog Cookout. Every cabin will have found a campsite by now and that is where they all go as a group and build a fire and cook out. The campsite stuff was always the one activity that I really enjoyed. The cabins can develop their campsites and actually build a structure if they like. We have plenty of woods in which to build, and the campsites will remain the preserve of each respective cabin for the entire summer.
This afternoon as the temperature nudged 75 degrees we had a beach party for the whole camp. It was too beautiful to do anything else, so we just went waterfront crazy.
Of course there was no clean-up this morning – the one day of the week when we don’t do clean-up – but it is back to normal tomorrow.
So all is well, as the warm rain starts to fall and begins to play a tune (of sorts) on my window, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
