‘If at first you don’t succeed, then you’re like everyone else. And that’s ok by the way’.
Yesterday we were in Minocqua for the last Town Day of the summer. We went a little earlier than usual, and we came home a little earlier after the whole place was drenched by a pretty good thunderstorm. The ski show had barely got started when they had to call a halt to everything. Oh well; when mother nature calls the shots, what can we do? But every cloud has a silver lining, and coming home early meant we could get one more sing practice in, and we got the boys to bed relatively early.
Today was spent in Green and White Field Days. Football, soccer, basketball and softball were the sports and at the end of it all the scores were even. So after dinner we settled everything with the wrestling meet. This came down to the last match-up and when it did the White’s took it. It was close and exciting, just the way we like competition here.
So on to the Sing, which finished just 40 minutes ago. Both teams were good in their singing and presentation, but, by a score of 4-1 it was the Green’s who came out on top.
Right now the boys are playing Midnight Manhunt, another game that involves squirt ‘guns’, but one that also has the added ingredient of darkness. They love this game. Running around under the cover of darkness with a squirt bottle; this sort of thing is made for 8/9/10/11/12 year old boys. It will all be over in 20 minutes and then it is on to the Relay tomorrow.
The action doesn’t stop and the fun just continues. All is well on this beautiful Monday evening, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
