One week done (already)!!

‘People hear your words, but they feel your attitude’

The weather dominated the day today. It was chilly! It’s that one blip of the week where the mercury drops below 50 before heading back up the tube to 76 tomorrow (with sunshine).

Of course that didn’t stop us doing anything. We carried on as normal, although I will admit that not too many people went in the water today. But the land sports were well represented instead; football, golf, softball, soccer. Ah soccer. Let me be bold and address that one right now. Today, at the European Championships in France history was made as mighty Iceland knocked (once mighty) England out of the competition. This was, by far, the biggest shock of the tournament and was, by a long way, the greatest result in the history of Icelandic football. This was like America losing to England or Canada at basketball. That just wouldn’t happen, right? Iceland beating England at soccer just doesn’t happen, right? Except that it did and I am suitably humbled this evening.

But life goes on and the sun will rise tomorrow. I’m about to walk around the cabin area after an impromptu comedy session around the camp fire this evening has left everyone in high spirits. Telling jokes is something that your guys seem very good at. Spontaneous campfires can be great fun as one does not always know how they will play out. But this one was really good and there was a lot of laughter.

Cabin 3 are having a sleepover at the Big House (Jason’s house) tonight, and cabins 5, 6 and 10 are enjoying pizza in the mess hall.

Phew! The day is almost done and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
