Super Saturday at CM summer camp!

‘An hour of concentrated work does more to kindle joy, to overcome sadness and to set your ship afloat again, than a month of gloomy brooding’. Benjamin Franklin

It’s the weekend in the Northwoods! How better to spend a Saturday night than to invite the ladies from Camp Chippewa over for a social. That’s what we’ve been doing for the past two hours and everyone had a blast. The cloud cover broke to provide us with the most beautiful setting in front of Sand lake. This really is the greatest place to be as a means of escape from the city and school and college…
We continued with our regular program today, and for us that means instruction in the morning and game time in the afternoon. That included a huge game of Speedball on the soccer field, hosted by our waterfront director, Koz (41 years and counting). I love it when the whole camp gets involved in an all-camp game. To see the older boys encourage the younger ones, in the same way that they too were encouraged when they were that age makes me think that we are doing something right and that what we are doing is having an effect. It makes it all worthwhile and it also means that all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
