The Campers Take Over

‘Effort before talent. It is the degree of effort and practice put forth that makes one look talented.’

So the boys were in charge today. They ran the show from wake up to Taps (which they are about to sing). And they did a good job, too. They wrote the schedule and made announcements in the mess hall – never an easy thing to do when you are not used to it, and they ran Casino Night this evening in the mess hall. I hope they will now appreciate just how taxing it can be to lead from the front and to be the one that everyone looks to for those important decisions.

The weather played its part for us by being hot and gorgeous. That enabled us to get the Slip n Slide out this afternoon. That’s always a fun thing to do, and not something you can just set up in your own local neighbourhood.

Saturday night in the North Woods is going to finish with some basketball under the lights for everyone who wants to. I should imagine that the younger boys from cabin’s 3 and 4 are going to go to bed. I know I am. And I go to bed knowing that all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
