The Wind Cools the Sun

‘Instead of looking for an excuse, try finding a reason’.

Those Wind team members have a lot of reasons to be happy tonight. They simply dominated the Sun and have romped home with an unassailable lead with one game left to play tomorrow morning.
The day started with the remnants of last night’s storm still lingering. But it was only cool and cloudy, so we just got on with it. British Bulldogs was the first game, and although it was close, the Wind took it 2-1.
This afternoon, as the cloud cover was blown away, it was time to go to the waterfront for the Swim Meet. This included the new log roll and ‘blobbing for points’. The Wind came out on top of this too, so it will take a miracle for the Sun to mount a comeback now.
In between all this action we had the first silent meal for many years. Both teams had to dress up in their chosen theme (Sun were ‘at the beach’ and the Wind were ‘going to bed’), and although the Sun were deserved winners of this event the Wind have proved too strong an adversary this year.
We have just finished horse racing in the mess hall. This is one of those events (no Sun or Wind affiliation) in which the boys from the Senior cabin use the boys from the youngest junior cabin as jockeys for their ‘horses’. We have a host and an announcer and music, and it’s all a lot of silly fun. So much fun, in fact, that we have only just finished.
It’s a cool, clear night; a great night for sleeping. And that’s where I’m headed right now. We’re running out of days this session, but there is still a lot of camping still to do, and all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
