“All anybody needs to know about prizes is that Mozart never won one.”
And so we get to the end of the first session. Boy did that go quickly. A day is like a week and a week is like a day, as they say. We’ve managed to pack a lot in during the last four weeks. And now we have to do the same again with even more boys here. That’s right folks, it’s record numbers coming up tomorrow. As of 2.45pm Sunday, this will be the most we’ve ever had here. Every cabin is full and every age group is well-catered for. What a great position to be in.
This weekend we’ve had many parents visit us as we opened our doors to welcome folks from far and wide. Visiting weekend allows us all to take a breather and offers the chance for a re-set. And with record numbers coming in tomorrow, we need to be at our best.
Can I take this opportunity to thank all you parents for sending your son to this camp for the first session, when we know that there are so many other options out there for you. We cannot (and do not) underestimate the trust you place in us. To ‘lend’ us your child(ren) for even a small part of the summer requires trust on so many levels. We like to think that we have a good program for everyone who comes here, and if they love sports then this is the place for any boy. We hope that those who have gone home after four weeks have a had a great time and will look forward to doing it all again next summer. We also want to wish them all the best in whatever they do for the rest of July and August.
So bring on the second session! We’re ready, and all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
