WOODY’S WORD 1st August 2013

‘When you have confidence, you can have lots of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things’. JOE NAMATH

The Whites are coming back!! The score is now 5 to 4 in favour of the Greens, so now we have a real competition on our hands. We played D-day this morning, another of those games that involves water balloons and squirt guns and Woody not knowing what is going on. The object – from what I could tell – was to get from the waterfront up through the cabin area without getting ‘hit’ by water. Simple enough I hear you say; or maybe not. Not too many people avoided the water, and in a close game the Whites came out on top.

The rest of the day was spent in Prime Time/Free Play. The sun shone so we got the activities going, although not too many people ventured into the water. That cold snap last weekend has somehow put the boys off the lake. I guess we were spoilt with that 90 degree weather.

Our campfire this evening was Song Night. Each cabin had to rewrite the lyrics to a song of their choice, a new song with a Menominee theme. It was the Juniors who triumphed in this endeavor with some real creativity.

I’m writing this as we await the arrival of the Kawaga counselors for the basketball game under the lights. The boys are going to come out and watch if they want to and cheer our counselors on to victory. And I’m going to watch too, so you must excuse me. But you can rest easily tonight as all is well.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
