WOODY’S WORD 20th July 2013

‘Experience is what you get  when you don’t get what you want’. ANON

Saturday night in the North Woods and what a night it is. The moon is breathtaking – like the still from ET (except for the cycling alien) – and the air is at peace with itself. It might get down to the low 50s which means it is perfect for sleeping.

Tomorrow is Lazy Day. Not quite a day of rest, but as close as we get to one here at camp. The boys can wander into breakfast any time between 8.30 and 10.00 and they don’t have to do clean-up. The boys like Lazy Day.

We completed a regular instructional and leagues kind of day today, and that might be the last time we do that for a while. We have some competition coming up next week and then our color war, so the summer is all planned out. All we ask is that everyone enjoys themselves and help keep those camp fires burning.

A fire would, in fact, be nice tonight, but an extra blanket will have to suffice. All is well folks, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
