“Be good. And if you can’t be good, be careful”.

I’m never quite sure if saying, “the internet is down”, is a reason or an excuse, as there is a difference between the two. That said, the internet – or as a good friend of mine often calls it, the interweb – was just not playing fair with me last night, so that was the reason I could not post yesterday.  But those that know far more about this stuff than I ever will have set me up this morning, so here goes.

We had what can only be described as another normal day at camp. Until our covid testing protocols are over (and that will be Friday, now that you ask), we will be operating at a slightly different ‘speed’ compared with a non-covid summer. We are being both good and careful in that respect, and indeed, we will continue to do so even after final testing is over tomorrow.

As a consequence of having to keep a degree of separation between us all, our evening program has been somewhat curtailed, as we try and get everyone through showers and canteen, while keeping the age divisions apart. It’s not easy, but we do it. The beauty of this arrangement is that we can keep outside and we can end our day at the flag pole with a group meeting. The bottom line is: we’re making it work. And when everyone tests negative again tomorrow (and I’m confident that they will), we will be able to come back together as one, and then it will feel really normal again.

Until then, all is well – and everyone is well – so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
