WOODY’S WORD 21st July 2013

Posted: July 21 2013

‘One hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, what sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be better because I was important in the life of a child’. ANON

And children are our life right now, and we have a huge group just raring to go. The energy and enthusiasm was obvious today. Maybe the Lazy Day lie-in helped; maybe the unstructured day or the beautiful weather. I don’t know what it was, but camp was just ALIVE today.

Sunday is a cabin orientated day, with a lot of the activities taking place as a cabin activity. One such activity is to find a campsite for the Sunday evening hot-dog cookout. The boys can go anywhere in the woods to set up camp, and that is where they will eat every Sunday evening. The good news is that they don’t have to kill their dinner in the woods as we provide a box full of food for them. After that they come back to the mess hall for Sundaes on Sunday.

We have just blown Taps and we have a full moon staring down at us from over the lake. Mother Nature can be kind and beautiful when she so chooses to be.

So life is good and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
