“Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, for as long as you can”.  John Wesley

Hello everybody

What a day. I was blindsided by Jeremy, the waterfront director this afternoon, as he lead the camp in a Woody Appreciation afternoon. To celebrate the many years I have been here, he (and others) organised a whole series of games and events that took up the whole afternoon. We started with a Staff v 16A soccer game (we called it Portsmouth v Arsenal), a game in which both teams played really well, with two staff goals settling the affair in a 2-0 win. The way the 16A team played makes me very confident that come competition time next week, the boys will fare well indeed.  The sun shone (it really could not have been nicer) and the boys had a great time. We carried the energy on into the evening with Song and Cheer night, a real classic camp fire. The younger and newer boys seemed a bit shocked by it all, but they will get it, just like the boys at the back of the room – the Seniors – got it, and are back at camp as the Seniors.

In other news – and talking of competition – the staff went to Camp Kawaga to play some basketball last night, and came home with a win. By all accounts it was a well-deserved victory, with some stand-out plays from a few of our better athletes. Jason and Jeff really did get some good hires over the winter. That’s two staff games, and two wins. Next up volleyball here at CM.

The 14 year old’s have popped over to Chippewa this evening for a little late-night socialising with their respective counterparts over there, and the rest of us hit the hay at 10.00 after a long and hectic day. I can safely say, without fear or favour, that all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody

As ever….WOODY!
