I’m writing this as the Race to the (for the) Goblet enters the home-straight. A weather pivot after dinner saw us all go to the GreenHouse for the final basketball games. As I understand it, the Dragons are on course for the overall win, but of course this could still change, even at this late stage in the day. It has been an immense competition, but one in which the Dragons have shown exceptional desire to take the Goblet. I have just popped over to the GreenHouse to see the action live, and the Dragons were up 16-5 after ten minutes of the first half. They – the Dragons – have been good across all sports this session, much like France at the World Cup. I’m not sure what other surprises that competition has in store for us, what with rescinded red-cards, spectacular goals, incredible comeback wins and full stadiums, but we are all eager to see what the quarter-finals have in store for us.

We enjoyed an eerie red sky this evening during Canteen. The rain that had threatened to disrupt the afternoon never really materialised – although we certainly needed what little rain that came. I think it was a combination of the weird-shaped clouds and sun that helped create the red glow. “Red sky at night…”

With only one full day to go (a full day of Twilight League softball) before we have to say goodbye to those going home and a big welcome to those parents who are making the trek north for visiting weekend, it is hard to believe that the time has gone so quickly. But it has, and all is well, so safely rest.
