Woody’s Word (June 26, 2018) – Float Like a Butterfly

“I don’t think the heavy stuff’s going to come down for quite a while.”

Good evening everybody. As I sit here and type, I can hear nothing but the leaves blowing in the wind as the rest of the camp dozes off to sleep. We have all had an action packed long day and are resting up to tackle whatever Wednesday might bring.

Today had a lot of highlights. During our normal Big Ten instructional schedule and King of the Camp league play, we were finally challenged by a little bit of liquid sunshine. Did that stop us? Not at all! There was no lightning anywhere near camp, so we stayed outside and went about our business uninterrupted. In fact, we had a new skier get up and around the whole lake in the rain! Even our counselors got in on the action by taking on the oldest campers in softball during rest period. We had an exciting round of Twilight League after dinner followed by Canteen and a fan favorite skit night: Menominee Squares!

Today’s word is short and hopefully sweet for our readers. Our boys are really showing us what it means to go about each and every day at camp following the Menominee Way. We have an amazing group of boys here.

All is well. Safely rest. Goodnight Everybody.

For the Love of Camp – Jason
