‘The only way to do it, is to do it.’ Anon

As the title of the Word tells you, today was backwards day. We tried to do everything in reverse order all day. So we woke to Taps and dinner for breakfast. The evening campfire – the Egg Drop (see the Megaphone for more details) – was completed by 10.45, whereupon we lowered the flag and went to canteen. By 11.30, in the beautiful sunshine, we headed out for some TLL before a modicum of normality was restored at lunch.

We started with General at 2.15 this afternoon, followed by two rounds of leagues. By this point it all seemed to be getting very complicated, so when dinner (which was breakfast) came around at 5.30 there was a sense of relief that we were, at last, getting towards the end. The Senior cabin went to town in the evening and we completed the TLL games. Shower and dip were as normal (some things we cannot change) and then at 8.00 it was time to clean the cabins.

And so we came to raise the flag at 8.45 (just as the CITs arrived home) and that was the end of backwards day.

With a clear sky tonight and the temperature dropping, this is a perfect night for sleeping. And that is exactly what I’m going  to do now. Needless to say, all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.
