“Blessed is he who has learned to laugh at himself, for he shall never cease to be entertained.”

Our first full day of British and American! After picking teams in Wasserman Hall first thing after raising the flag, we got right to it with some exciting Captains Duels. The object of these duels is to get your opponent wet: wetter than you, in fact. Two captains face each other with a ‘loaded’ water balloon, then they charge to together in the hope that they will be able to smash their balloon onto their opponent, while not getting themselves wet in the process. After five rounds, and so by a score of 3-2, the British prevailed. The Brits also won the following ‘cheer off’. Taking a 2-0 lead into this afternoon, the British were confident as they headed out to the Land and Water events. Wheelbarrow races, dizzy izzies, potato on spoon, fill a canoe were just some of the events they played before they all piled in for the great, greasy watermelon in the lake. This time it was the Americans who came out on top.

So 2-1 to the British is a narrow lead to take into tomorrow’s final B&A day. The Squirt Gun Fight followed by Message to Garcia will decide it all.

The boys have just finished Commercial Night in Wasserman Hall. They had three minutes to make a skit that was trying to sell something. Inevitably it ended up as an Imitation Night, but if that’s what gets the most laughs, then so be it. The Senior age group are about to embark on Revere’s Ride, another one of those games that involves running around in the dark. They enjoy it, but by the time they are done I will be long gone, prepping for another day tomorrow.

If the Brits are winning 2-1, then all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
