Camp for All Kids Adds Camp Menominee as 6th Member Camp

Posted: December 13 2017

Hi CM Family – usually Woody’s Word is a summer only evening gem, but we have great news we wanted to share with the community. We have many values we teach our campers as a part of the Menominee Way, but our guidance is meaningless without setting the right example. For decades we have been associated with the Nate Wasserman Camp Fund as the organization has helped hundreds of members of our community share in the joys of camp. Our efforts in this space have not gone unnoticed and we have been asked to join an incredible organization called Camp for All Kids as their 6th member camp.  We are excited to promote and support both organizations with parallel missions across different communities. Below is an email sent from co-Presidents Ben Sher and Brian Williams about Menominee’s participation.

We hope you will join us in supporting Camp for All Kids and continue your support of the Nate Wasserman Camp Fund going forward.

Camp for All Kids Welcomes Camp Menominee as Sixth Partner Camp

Camp for All Kids is excited to welcome Camp Menominee as our sixth partner camp! Menominee, located in Eagle River, Wisconsin, will begin accepting boys through the Camp for All Kids scholarship program in summer 2018, and joins our current camp partners: Birch Trail (Minong, WI), Chippewa Ranch Camp (Eagle River, WI), Camp Kamaji (Cass Lake, MN), North Star Camp (Hayward, WI) and Camp Timberlane (Woodruff, WI).

Camp Menominee offers the summer overnight camp experience we seek for our campership (scholarship) recipients. “The Menominee Way,” the camp’s guiding principles of attitude, determination, heart, leadership, spirit and sportsmanship, fits perfectly with the philosophy of Camp for All Kids and our other partner camps.

Our partnership with Camp Menominee continues a year of strategic growth for Camp for All Kids. Since 2016, we’ve expanded our partner school relationships by adding new partnerships at four elementary and middle schools in Chicago and St. Louis. The most important result of this expansion – and the motivation for our strategic growth – is increasing our ability to send more deserving boys and girls to camp. Last summer Camp for All Kids sent 70 kids to camp, a 20% increase over the prior year. Next year, we plan to send at least 85 kids from Chicago, Cleveland and St. Louis to camp!

Menominee has been a family-owned camp for boys since it was founded in 1928. Owner/Director Jason Feldgreber is a life-long camper, starting as a camper at Menominee when he was 10 years old. He was a camper, CIT, Counselor and Associate Director in his 15 years at Menominee before becoming the Owner and Director in 2015. More information on Menominee can be found at campmenominee.com.

“We are excited to join Camp for All Kids and look forward to hosting our first boys through the program at camp this summer,” said Jason. “We strongly believe in the mission and are thrilled about the benefit this partnership will provide to the campership families and our camp community. We are excited for our camp staff, families and alumni to continue our culture of giving and become active participants in supporting Camp for All Kids.”

Please join us in in welcoming Camp Menominee to Camp for All Kids!
