‘Such a troublesome colony. Are we not well rid of her?’

Those words may or may not have been spoken many years ago, but I for one am sure glad that America exists in its current form today. It has given the world so much and continues to give much in the 21st century. On July 4th it is giving the Brits a good run for their money in our B and A competition. America leads 2-1 as it stands, with more to come tomorrow. (But at least a Brit – an Englishman, Mark Cavendish – won the third stage of the Tour today).

We got home late this evening from Camp Marimeta across town. We had to stay late for the fireworks, and what a great show they were too. The competition will conclude tomorrow. More sunshine is forecast!

Life is good and all is well, so safely rest.
