‘When we have the ball we attack, as a team, and when we don’t have the ball we defend, as a team. The way to win is to score more goals/points/runs than them. Simple.’ Pre-game pep talk.
The computer was running so slow last night that I just had to give up and try again this morning, which is what I am doing. It obviously wasn’t ready, but we are!
To inspire and motivate us, we heard the story of how the counsellors beat the Kawaga counsellors on Monday night, by a score of 10 to 8. We even had film of the final out as the mighty moon ball struck out their final batter, who swung and missed. Having been down 7-0 at one point in that game, this was a memorable comeback, and a real fillip for the boys at camp.
Our preparation has been good – even the weather has helped us out by raining over-night so that the fields are now a little softer and greener. The forecast is cloudy and humid for today. We start at 1pm with football, soccer and hockey, with wrestling tonight. It should be a great day of competition.
I’m not going to make any predictions, but I will tell you that all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
