“The problem with doing nothing is not knowing when you’re finished”.

Hello Everybody

Last night was one of those nights when knocking me out of my routine proved costly. Getting in the shower is the last thing I do every day before going to bed, but last night I ventured into the shower before writing the Word. That, in turn, led me to believe that I’d done everything I needed to do, so I duly lay down with my book, and that was it. It wasn’t until 6.15 this morning that I was lying in bed gazing out at the breaking blue sky outside, that I realised that I hadn’t written last night. So here I am, back at the keyboard this evening BEFORE I take a shower. haha

Sun and Wind was wrapped up with British Bulldogs and a two out of three game win for the Wind, and that gave them the competition overall by a score of 5 to 4. Sun and Wind is always a fun competition, as is playing sports against other camps, and that was what we did today. That’s right folks: Timberlane was the camp we played today, and from what I hear, we won everything we played, save for one game (13over baseball). It’s always fun to play competition. While Timberlane might not be as intense as the Kawaga meet, it did give the boys a taste of what it is like to play in a more formal setting, against boys we do not know. The game I refereed – 13under soccer – resulted in a 6-1 win for us. I’m happy to say that the game was played the right way, in beautiful conditions, by two teams that really wanted to play and win. That’s what we like to see here at CM.

As a result of the competition, we had to have dinner a bit late, which then messed the rest of the schedule up, but that’s ok, because we have something else planned for after the flag, which I’m about to do, so I will come back to this very soon.

We just sprung a surprise pizza party on the whole camp! With the two week Rookies leaving tomorrow, we thought it would be nice to go out on a memorable high. We’re also awarding the Proficiency Pins to those who have tested so far (and that includes a lot of Rookies).

So here we are on the 4th July weekend, and the start of the Tour de France, and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight Everybody

As ever…WOODY!
