Woody’s Word 24th June 2023

“It’s only when the tide goes out that you can see who’s been swimming naked”.

I’m writing this as the boys are coming back from the social with Chippewa Ranch Camp, just around the corner down Highway D. Saturday night is party night!! They have been over there for a couple of hours, and they should all be back in one piece pretty soon. We like to socialize with the girls’ camps, and this will be the first of three or four times this summer when we get together with the girls. We host as well, and that’s always a fun evening as we usually have a theme to the social, as well as music, dancing and food, and maybe ice-cream. But that’s all for another time. For now, though, it is Saturday night, the night before Lazy day.

Lazy Day Sunday is the day we let the boys (everyone in fact) sleep in a little longer than normal. Breakfast is a more informal affair, and we spread it over a 90 minute period. I’ll explain more about Lazy Day tomorrow.

Today it was as warm as ever (hot in fact), so it was another busy day at the waterfront. We are lucky, indeed, to have the lake that we do. Sand Lake is on a chain of five lakes and it is relatively quiet. We can ski, fish, canoe, tube, swim with little or no contact with the outside world, so to speak. Stop press: it’s raining! I wondered what that noise was, and it is real rain. What a great time for it to rain.

I got pulled away from this, and now I’ve lost my train of thought. All I can say for sure is that all is well in our world, so let’s all safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
