On this very. special episode of the pod I am joined by CITs Kase Ratzlaff and Jack Behar. We cover the beginning of the King of the Camp playoffs, what they are looking forward to come the twilight league playoff, and dive in a little to the counselor softball game that CM played in this week.

Woody’s Word – The Play-Offs Begin

‘If at first you don’t succeed….then you are like 95% of the population’.

I’m sitting at the computer with the window open this evening, and the warm wind is trying to cool me off. It’s been a hot one, for sure, today. It’s actually clouding over as I write this, and I have felt a few spots of rain. And, boy, do we need the rain. The grass is getting brown and the ground is hard. It doesn’t take long for that to happen when you don’t get any rain for a week or so. Indeed, I don’t recall one time yet this session when we have called for rain gear. That’s pretty amazing. Maybe the rain will come tonight while we sleep and everywhere will be, as if by magic, green tomorrow. But nature does what nature will do, and we just have to play along.

So we started the King of the Camp play-offs today. The Phoenix are ahead at this point, with only one day to go. We will wrap it all up tomorrow night with the Senior basketball under the lights. Talking of under the lights. Our counsellors played the guys from Camp Ojibwa last night, under the lights at their softball field. In a close game that could have gone either way, OJ ran out winners by a score of 6-5. Our guys played well, and we got great support from the Senior age division, but we just ran out of time (and innings) to finish the job the way we wanted to. We’ll get ‘em next time.

The boys are in the rec’ hall right now doing Movie Skit Night, which is really just another opportunity for them to imitate the counsellors and have some fun. The idea is that they finish the end of a movie in a new way, with a camp theme, and they have three minutes to do it. I wanted to get this written before they finished so that I might get an early night, and right now I am on track.

I can’t believe there are only two full days left before we see so many of you parents this weekend. The first session has gone so quickly, and I’m sure the good weather has played a part in that. We’re still going strong, and all is well, so safely rest.

Goodnight Everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
