Campers in Charge

‘I always try to end the day knowing more than I did yesterday, and wanting to know even more tomorrow’. WOODY!

So the campers ran the show today. (I’m actually writing this on Sunday morning as it was so late last night and the computer was being so slow and uncooperative that those two things got the better of me, so you must forgive me if I slip in and out of past and present tenses).
It was late, as we played basketball against the counselors from Camp Kawaga right here on the Dunleavy Courts under the lights. We had the whole camp out watching the game and it was a thriller. We didn’t score enough points to win the game, but it was played in the right spirit and with the right attitude. This was important as we do have the boys playing in the big competition against Kawaga next week.
For most of the day the Senior cabin ran the show (with our close supervision of course). They wrote the schedule which meant that we started with a lie-in (lazy day style), Twilight League, and a beach party in the afternoon (with the Slip n Slide back in action).
After dinner we brought everyone in for Casino Night, the night where the boys learn how to gamble and play cards and throw dice, and hopefully understand the concept of Lady Luck and how she operates. It was a great night, made even better when the Dina Mia pizza arrived at 9.00.
It was a long day, but, as ever, a good one, and all is well, so safely rest.
Goodnight everybody.
As ever…WOODY!
