“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”  Ben Franklin

What a storm we had this evening. We had managed to get Twilight League started, and we were maybe a couple of innings in when the black, menacing clouds rolled in over the trees at the end of the golf course, and BOOM!!, that was it for the evening. The rain was great, but it certainly put paid to anymore outside activity today. We did manage to catch a break in order to do Canteen, but the rain came again before easing off enough to enable us to convene in Wasserman Hall to close out the day. I cannot really complain about the weather. It has been great thus far this summer. We have lost very little to Mother Nature. Indeed, we started the day under a cloudless sky, so we got to do most everything on the schedule. But no matter what the weather, we go again tomorrow.

Yesterday was a late one, which is the reason why I did not write last night. We had been in town (Minocqua) all afternoon, and then watched the ski show. By the time the buses got back to the Friendly Confines, it was already 9pm, and we still had The Way to do. Sunday evening is the night we do The Way, and we wanted to do it on schedule one last time for those boys who will be leaving us this coming Friday. And what a night to do it on. As the fire died down at The Way, so the stars became evermore visible above us. It was star-gazers paradise last night, and we fully encouraged the boys (and staff) to stop and take a look above them on the walk back to the cabin area. One cabin even stopped on the fifth green astro-turf to lay on their backs to better observe the night sky. Fast forward 24 hours, and what a contrast. That’s nature, I guess, and it’s certainly northern Wisconsin weather.

If circumstances allow, we will complete King of the Camp tomorrow, while continuing to pin-test. And if we manage that, then all will be well, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
