Woody’s Word 11th July 2023

“Don’t ever jump over a fence until you know why it was put up in the first place.”

King of the Camp ruled the roost today. Soooooo much King of the Camp. The lead is changing hands all the time as the four teams – Phoenix, Thunderbirds, Knights, Dragons – vie for the Goblet. Tonight it is the Phoenix who sit top of the pile, with still more games to play tomorrow. Perhaps the highlight of the today was the greasy watermelon, free-for-all in the lake this morning. Just how much fun can you have with a watermelon covered in vaseline in the water? Too much fun it seemed. With a huge crowd watching, each age group went at it, and I’m happy to say that no watermelons were harmed in the playing of this game.

I’m writing this as the Rock Band campfire is taking place in Wasserman Hall. This is the opportunity for those who play an instrument, or for those who sing or dance to get up on stage and show us all their skills and talents. Then we have some pizza parties lined up for those who have earnt them. Sooooo much going on, and unlike yesterday evening, beautiful weather to do it all in.

I’m really not kidding when I say that all is well, so safely rest. We are at camp, so how could it not be so.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
