Woody’s Word 24th July 2023

“Do not put your faith in what statistics say until you have carefully considered what they do not say.”

The start of another very busy week. As many of you will be aware, we have a big competition coming up in a few days. That will involve the 11-year-olds and 16-year-olds travelling over to Minocqua to compete against our big rival, Camp Kawaga (while the 13-year-olds stay here) We got into a few practices today: nothing too strenuous, just enough to see who wants to play. By way of a taster, our counsellors are playing the counsellors from Kawaga in our new GreenHouse this evening. As I write this, it is half-time, all tied up at 28 each in a very exciting game.

The focus this week, therefore, is the Kawaga competition. It will be the goal we work toward. We believe in competition played the right way and in the right spirit. This is camp sport and as such it should be enjoyed as such. Sure we want to win – as do Kawaga – so we will do all we possibly can, in the right way, to help make sure that happens.

We are going to mix things up a bit tomorrow, as too much practice might be counter-productive, and I’ll tell you how our Tuesday looks tomorrow.

All is going well in the GreenHouse, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
